A film about the phenomenal sport career and the tempestuous life of the most famous Bulgarian – football superstar Hristo Stoichkov. A dramatic documentary covering the triumphs and the collapses of the born winner; the mission of the leader who inspires and drives those around to him throughout the crucial moments in life and on the pitch; the real events and the myths; the national self-confidence and the national nihilism… and all in one man.
Borislav Kolev is among the most respected film critics and art journalists in Bulgaria, also known for his passionate screenwriting for sport documentaries. He wrote the screenplays for two popular feature-length sport history films: The Great Blue Magic (1994), and A Ballad for Gundi (2003) . In 2001 Kolev won the prestigious Cultural Journalism Award of the Union of Bulgarian Journalists.
