A parody of the economic crisis and generation relations. Gudrun is a ten year old girl that one day finds herself in the principals´ office where she is told that her SUV. burned to the ground earlier that same morning. While stressing the seriousness of the matter the principal assures her that an investigation will take place. Unsure what this means Guðrún tries to investigate on her own during recess. She finds out that Björn, a classmate of hers, has also had problems with the principal, and in his case it was over an outstanding loan.
Icelandic director Hallur Örn Árnason graduated from the Icelandic Film School in 2010. Before his cinema studies he had studied philosphy. He grew up partly in France before his parents moved him permanently to Iceland. During the intolerable social climate of the Icelandic economic boom Hallur fled his country and lived in Holland where he worked as a baker. But as dark clouds gathered he quickly moved back to witness the economic crash first hand. Hallur is currently working on a couple of documentaries.
