The graduating motion picture director class of the University of Theatre and Film Arts Budapest has finished its studies; however, none of the state organisations agreed to finance their diploma films, which is why they decided to realize one of their old plans in the interim period: they produced a low-budget omnibus film about Budapest.
The project bearing the title ...meanwhile in Budapest is a series of loosely connected short films with the common characteristic that they are all set in the reality of the capital which everyone may experience. The 8 short films are approximately 8-15 minutes long and each film tells a simple, everyday story. Every one of these short films is a low-budget production set at original venues and produced with a small crew. This further emphasises the “here and now” nature of the situation and results in a colourful portraits of Budapest.
