Yella has decided to leave her small town for a promising job and new life, leaving behind her failed marriage and broken dreams. Christian Petzold (born in 1960. in Hilden) is a German film director. From 1981. on he lived in Berlin, where he was studying theatre and German studies. He pursued his education at the German Film and Television Academy Berlin (dffb). In 2005., his film “Gespenster” was presented at the Berlinale film festival, as was his 2007. film “Yella”. The 2008. film “Jerichow” was his fourth collaboration with Nina Hoss. His fifth collaboration with Hoss results with multiaword winning picture “Barbara” in 2012.
