The Pearl Button is a documentary that tells two stories linked by two smalls nuttons found in the ocean. Two true stories that go beyond the 'official history'. It was screened in the main competition section of the 65th Berlin International Film Festival where it won the Silver Bear for Best Script.
Patricio Guzmán was born on August 11, 1941. in Santiago, Chile as Patricio Guzmán Lozanes. He currently lives in France. He is a documentary film director and writer, known for „Nostalgia de la luz“ (2010.), „Salvador Allende“ (2004.) and „La batalla de Chile: La lucha de un pueblo sin armas - Primera parte: La insurreción de la burguesía“ (1975.). He is the founder and director of the International Documentary Festival of Santiago (FIDOCS).
