Storyline
A young immigrant is shot down while illegally crossing the border. Terrified and in shock, wounded Aryan can now mysteriously levitate at will. Thrown into a refugee camp, he is smuggled out by Dr Stern, intent on exploiting his extraordinary secret. Pursued by enraged camp director Laszlo, the fugitives remain on the move in search of safety and money. Inspired by Aryan's amazing powers, Stern takes a leap of faith in a world where miracles are trafficked for small change…
Kornél Mundruczó was born in Hungary in 1975. Pleasant Days, his first feature film, was awarded the Silver Leopard in Locarno in 2002. His second feature film, Johanna - a filmic opera adaptation of the story of Joan of Arc - was presented in Cannes Un Certain Regard in 2005. Delta was In Competition at Cannes 2008 and was awarded the FIPRESCI prize, the Gene Moskowitz Award and the “Golden Reel“ Main Prize at the Hungarian Film Week. In 2010, Tender Son - The Frankenstein Project was also presented in Cannes Competition. In 2014 his film White God has been granted production from the Hungarian Film Fund and won the Un Certain Regard Prix at the Cannes IFF. His 2017 film Jupiter's Moon is his third film to be in the official selection for the Cannes Film Festival.
