Storyline

Irène Frachon, a doctor who lives in the Breton town of Brest, dares to stand up to the French health and pharmaceutical industry, helping to uncover the media scandal surrounding the commercialization of a controversial medicine whose side effects have caused the death of hundreds of people. In the hospital where she works in Brest, France, a lung specialist discovers a direct link between suspicious deaths and state-approved medicine. Emmanuelle Bercot (Paris, 1967) is an actress and director. Having made several shorts, she helmed her feature directorial debut with Clément, Youth Award at Cannes 2001. Next came Backstage (2005), Elle s’en va (On My Way, 2013), which competed at Berlin, and La tête haute (Standing Tall, 2015), which bagged two César awards from a raft of eight nominations. Highlights in her acting career are the titles: La classe de neige (Class Trip, 1998),Ça commence aujourd’hui (It All Starts Today, 1999), Polisse (2011) and Mon Roi (My King, 2015).
