João Pedro Rodrigues was born in 1966 in Lisbon, Portugal. He is a director and writer. His credits include O Fantasma (2000), selected for the official competition at Venice, Two Drifters (2005), screened in the Directors’ Fortnight, and To Die Like a Man (2009), selected for Un Certain Regard at Cannes. From his very first short film, he works with art director and screenwriter João Rui Guerra da Mata and they subsequently co-direct several films including Red Dawn (2011) and The Last Time I Saw Macao (2012). In 2015, they co-sign Iec Long, a documentary which is screened at Berlin.
