It's the 22nd of December.A small Romanian town. Sixteen years have passed since the revolution. Piscoci, an old retired man and Santa Claus, is preparing for another Christmas alone. Manescu, a history teacher and an alcoholic tries to keep up with his debts. The owner of a local television post thinks it is the time to face history. Along with Manescu and Piscoci, he is trying to answer: ‘Was it or wasn't it a revolution in their town?’
Corneliu Porumboiu (1975) is a Romanian film director and screenwriter. Apart from the awarded ‘12:08 East of Bucharest’ / ‘12:08 a Fost Sau n-a Fost?’ he directed shorts: ‘Călătorie la oraş’ (2003) and ‘Visul lui Liviu’ (2004).
He is the son of well-known football referee Adrian Porumboiu.
