DANUBIAN SCREENWRITING WORKSHOP

As previous years, Vukovar Film Festival again organises a movie-related workshop. Last year, practice and lecturings on making documentaries was held. This year, we offer screenwriting workshop.

It will be held in Festival’s days, from 26th to 30th August. In partnership with Goethe Institute, and thanks to this years’ partner-country – Germany, we proudly present Yilmaz Arlsan, Germanian screenwriter and director, as this years’ workshop lecturer. Mr Arlsan is multiawarded movie artist and his works such as “Langer Gang” and “Fratricide” won prizes at San Sebastian and Locarno festivals.

A special contest for joining the workshop was held: best short-outline writers will have their accomodation sponsored for five Festival’s days.

From numerous competitors, five of the best will be chosen by Croatian screenwriter and director, Mr Ognjen Sviličić, author of “Da mi je biti morski pas”, “Armin”, “Sorry for Kung-fu”.

Who knows, maybe one of this workshop students’ stories becomes a movie one day. We certainly hope it does.
