Storyline
In the mid 90's, 20 urban dancers join together for a three-day rehearsal in a closed-down boarding school located at the heart of a forest to share one last dance. They then make one last party around a large sangria bowl. Quickly, the atmosphere becomes charged and a strange madness will seize them the whole night. If it seems obvious to them that they have been drugged, they neither know by who nor why. And it's soon impossible for them to resist to their neurosises and psychoses, numbed by the hypnotic and the increasing electric rhythm of the music. While some feel in paradise, most of them plunge into hell.
About the director
Gaspar Noé was born December 27, 1963 in Argentine. He is the son of Argentine painter, writer and intellectual Luis Felipe Noé. He and his family emigrated to the US in 1976, to avoid the tense, dangerous political situation in Argentina at the time. They lived in New York City for a short time, before moving to France. The films of Stanley Kubrick are one source of inspiration for Noé, and in September 2012 he stated that seeing 2001: A Space Odyssey at the age of seven changed his life, without which experience he would never have become a director. He is mostly known for his feature films: I Stand Alone, Irréversible, Enter the Void and Love. Climax is his fifth feature film.
