Storyline
Varos Amarcord is a documentary series about for suburban areas in Dalmatia (Šibenik, Split, Zadar and Sinj) which are presented from the perspective of colorful legends, their memories of childhood and life in the city in which they grew up. Documentary feature The Three Singers Who Made It Big is about Šibenik and about childhood of Arsen DediĆ, Vice Vukov and Mišo Kovač – three singers who marked the last fifty years of pop music in ex Yugoslavia like no one else and who grew up in the same street of their poor Varoš. Amarcord brings us to times when they were children who were very acclaimed in their early age.
About the director
Ivan Živković Žika (Šibenik, 1982) is Croatian journalist and director. So far he directed documentary feature „Ćiro“ (2010) about „the coach of all coaches“ – Miroslav Ćiro Blažević. His company Behemoth produced four episodes of documentary serial Varos Amarcord for Croatian National Television. He himself directed three episodes of the mentioned series. For 20 years he's working as a journalist. His articles were published in almost all Croatian print media.
