Storyline
What does a man has to do in order to fulfill his dream? In order to find the best answer to that question, Davor Rostuhar accepted a big challenge and went into the big research which brought him to the end of the world. He became the first Croat who crossed from Antarctica to the South Pole on foot. The expedition lasted for 47 days during which he walked 1163 kilometers without food delivery, dragging his equipent on a sleds which weights 135 kilograms without using outside power (wind, dogs pooch, motor sledges etc.). The movie is a combination of intimate audio-visual recordings of a man's journey who in order to achieve his dream actually travels deep inside himself. On his journey, the author is having mental breakdowns, reaches the maximum of his abbilities and beyond, have ups and downs and in the end achieves a triumph in a way he could never have imagined.
About the director
Djuro Gavran was born in 1982 in Bjelovar. He studied film and TV for documentary features at the Academy of Dramatic Arts in Zagreb and design at the Faculty of Graphic Arts in Zagreb. He is the author of numerous documentary features and two experimental films. The movie „Presuda“ (2013) had its premiere at the Rotterdam Film Festival after which it was screened on more than 30 domestic and international festival and won numerous awards including Special Mention at ZagrebDox. Movie „4,7“ (2016) won main prize in a regional competition of ZagrebDox and „Jedi, spavaj, jedi, spavaj“ (2018) won an award at CIRCOM. He is the founder of production company Pipser.
